TEGMA Announces 2023 MANRRS Gold Scholars

We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2023 MANRRS Gold TEGMA Scholarships!

These competitive academic scholarships are awarded to ten high-performing collegiate students by Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS), providing a $1,000 stipend to attend the upcoming MANRRS Annual National Conference as well as a $500 academic scholarship.

The 2023 MANRRS Gold TEGMA Scholars are:

  • Ekene Aguegboh, PhD student at Auburn University studying Applied Economics

  • Teresa Haddock, Senior at Oklahoma State studying Agricultural Economics

  • Mirai Inaoka, Senior at University of Illinois studying Crop and Soil Sciences

  • Olivia Matthews, Sophomore at Delaware State studying Environmental Science

  • Zoie McMillian, PhD student at Virginia Tech studying Wildlife Biology

  • Kennedy Orr, Junior at Southern University studying Agricultural Business

  • Avona Randolph, Junior at Mississippi State studying Animal Science

  • Venecia Rollins, Senior at Oregon State

  • Naajia Shakir, Graduate student at University of Michigan studying Agricultural Systems

  • Abenezer Shankute, Senior at UC Davis studying Environmental Science

TEGMA is entering the fourth year of it's Educational Initiative and this new partnership with MANRRS marks the expansion of that initiative to reinvest in the industry and help the industry identify new, diverse talent.

These scholars represent TEGMA's initial class of scholarship recipients, and is part of a three-year commitment to MANRRS. TEGMA staff and member volunteers will be attending the MANRRS upcoming national conference in Atlanta.

At a matching level of support, TEGMA has also partnered with Agriculture Future of America (AFA). Scholarship recipients from both programs will be invited to attend TEGMA's Fall Symposium in Kansas City.
